Institutional Mother-Child Biobank of CHU Sainte-Justine
Description
The institutional mother-child biobank was created to provide all CHU Sainte-Justine researchers with the following services: extraction of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA); preparation of PBMC; centrifugation of biospecimens; preparation of plasma/serum; aliquoting; storage of biospecimens (blood, saliva, urine, breast milk, tissues, others); shipment of samples to external sites.
Other Platforms
  • Cardiology Technical Platform It is not reserved exclusively for clinical research. Services are offered during the day only. Available equipment includes: Electrocardiograph (ECG), Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Fetal Echocardiogram, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM), Holter, Vascular Resistance.
  • Clinical Research Support Center (CRSC) The CRSC is reserved exclusively for research. CRSC services are offered mainly during the day, on weekdays, and include, among others: - Hiring and onboarding of new clinical research staff; - Support in assessing study feasibility (budget, negotiations, etc.); - Management of clinical trials according to quality standards and applicable regulations.
  • Quality Assurance Office (QAO) The QAO is reserved exclusively for research. QAO services are offered during the day, on weekdays, and include: - Clinical trial monitoring services - Internal audit program - Support in preparing for external audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Clinical Investigation Center (CIC) Work began in March 2025 on the construction of the future CIC at CHU Sainte-Justine. This new facility will significantly enhance our institution’s ability to participate in the most innovative clinical trials across numerous areas of interest.
